The village of Samoëns is located in the Vallée du Giffre in the French Alps and carries the distinction of being the only official alpine Monument historique village in France. Samoëns is linked in with Grand Massif ski area, 265kms of pistes including the resorts of Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt Fer à Cheval. The longest ski run is an impressive 14km.

The village is situated at about 700 meters above sea level and boasts an exceptionally rich heritage as well as a thriving life throughout the year.

Samoëns is an also an ideal location to spend your holiday during the warmer months. The charming old streets with an array of regional commerce, original architecture and friendly residents provide a wonderful atmosphere that makes you welcome throughout the whole year.

The village is steeped in history which is symbolised by the Gros Tilleul – a large lime tree planted in 1438 in the square.

Activities in the summer include hiking, mountain biking, rafting, climbing, swimming, golf, family adventure parks, horse riding …the list is enormous!

If you wish to venture away from Samoëns during your stay then recommended places to visit would include: Annecy with it’s beautiful old town and large lake, Chamonix to see the grandeur of Mont Blanc or take one of the highest cable cars in Europe to the Aiguille du Midi.

Just 10 minutes away you can find the stunning nature reserve at Sixt with it’s backdrop of steep cliff and huge waterfalls.
